The Chartridge community has an asset that sets it apart from the rest of Severna Park’s neighborhoods: a pool complex that is for our residents only. Unlike our neighboring communities, Chartridge does not offer outside memberships, which means the pool is exclusive to our community residents and their accompanied guests. Chartridge residents do not pay a separate pool membership – the membership is included as part of our homeowners association fees.

The Chartridge pool is the center of activity in the community from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The social committee throws a terrific Opening Pool Day Party to kick off the season and there’s an Independence Day party that is talked about throughout the year. During August the annual Adult Party is held at the pool – a perfect way to spend a warm summer evening. By Labor Day, when the pool closes for the year, our families have accumulated a number of wonderful memories.

The pool is kept extremely clean. Every night the lifeguards meticulously clean the pool area and it is spot cleaned throughout the day. There are always lifeguards on duty when the pool is open. Chartridge pays a pool management company to provide trained lifeguards and maintain the pool. However, much work on the pool is done by generous volunteers from the community. Thanks to all who assist!

For a modest fee residents can host after-hour parties at the pool and can rent the pavilion for events such as birthday parties. Rentals are restricted to residents and their guests.

The pool has BBQ grills in a special area and residents can use them to cook their dinner. Often families order pizza and have dinner at the pool.

The Chartridge Tidal Waves is a family oriented and community supported swim team for children ages 4-18. All community members are welcome and encouraged to join!

As a member of the Central Maryland Swim League (CMSL), we focus on team spirit, good sportsmanship, and the advancement of aquatic skills. The team is fun and competitive.

Our season begins annually in June and continues through the end of July with daily practices Monday through Friday. We participate in five dual meets scheduled on Saturdays throughout the season. We conclude each year with a team party at the pool, and celebrate the personal accomplishments of all our swimmers and the team.
